Just before the light slipped away, layer after layer of cloud began to glow amber, gold, and quiet turquoise folding into one another like a slow, burning exhale. What started as a hunt for one object became an unexpected encounter with something far larger and more alive.

This is that fleeting cathedral of vapor and light, captured in the moment the sky decided it would be the subject.
